‘Any Minute I’ll have to decide’ – Watch £30M star midfielder send Liverpool And Chelsea transfer message as jurgen klopp identifies him as potential Roberto Firmino replacement
Sporting Liston star Matheus Nunes, a transfer target for Liverpool, thinks a move to England is likely this summer.
The midfielder has made 74 appearances and 6 goals for the Portuguese team.
But Liverpool isn’t the only team after Nunes. Correio da Manha reports that he thinks Chelsea or Wolves might also make a play for him “at any minute.”
After a strong season with Sporting, Nunes has drawn the interest of numerous prospective suitors this summer.
If the 23-year-old were to sign with Liverpool, he would be used to challenge Thiago Alcantara as a deep-lying playmaker.
Sporting value Nunes at around £30 million, but he isn’t the type of player who would push for a hefty salary. Liverpool will be drawn to this given their strict salary structure.
Jude Bellingham of Borussia Dortmund is supposedly a player the Reds are willing to spend a fortune to acquire, but he is not a transfer candidate this summer.
The Reds are prepared to hold off on signing the Englishman until the summer of 2023. By then, it is anticipated that Dortmund will be prepared to cut ties with Bellingham.
Bellingham would probably play in the box-to-box position on the right side of Jürgen Klopp’s midfield three if he were to sign at Liverpool.
Klopp prefers to use his selected midfielder in that role a little differently on the left side of that engine room.
In this position, Klopp seeks a midfielder with a preference for sitting a little deeper and assisting in his team’s build-up play.
Nunes would be an excellent choice for such a job, and his hiring would not have an effect on the Bellingham investigation.
The transition from Portugal to the Premier League is never simple, but Liverpool is in a situation where they can give Nunes some time.
The Portuguese midfielder might pick up a lot from Thiago Alcantara while waiting for his replacement, as it will probably take him some time.
The aging Liverpool engine room makes Nunes’ arrival the start of the much-needed midfield transition at Anfield.
Wolves and Chelsea are poised to pounce at any time, so the Reds will need to act quickly if they want to catch their man.
