Each week the Erie Times-News and GoErie.com keep track of Erie County’s Top Performers from the spring sports season.

The list begins weekly with the Erie County Athletes of the Week. Fort LeBoeuf softball player Kadence Bailey and Cathedral Prep baseball player Reece Colvin are this week’s winners. More than 6,200 votes were cast in the two online polls from Monday through Wednesday.

Here’s a look at the Erie County Athletes of the Week, followed by the Top Performers for this week:

ERIE COUNTY FEMALE ATHLETE OF THE WEEK

Kadence Bailey, Fort LeBoeuf softball: She extended LeBoeuf’s run of Female Athlete of the Week winners to three in a row.

The sophomore asserted herself offensively during the Bison’s southern road trip. She hit a double and scored twice in Fort LeBoeuf’s 5-3 victory over Lewisville (South Carolina) at the Grand Strand Classic in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.

Bailey received 606 of the 3,332 votes in the Female Athlete poll. That represented 18.19 percent of the vote. She edged Fairview lacrosse player Julia Weindorf, who also received strong support with 580 votes.

ERIE COUNTY MALE ATHLETE OF THE WEEK

Reece Colvin, Cathedral Prep baseball: The Ramblers’ leadoff hitter has been a sparkplug for the Prep offensive engine this season.

The senior outfielder had four hits, scored four times and reached base in each of his five times at-bats during the Prep’s 9-1 win over rival McDowell at Mercyhurst University.

Through nine games, Colvin was leading Prep with a .682 batting average, 21 runs scored and 15 hits in just 35 plate appearances.

Colvin received 472 votes in the Male Athlete poll, which represented 16.29 percent of the 2,897 total votes.

Jake Hower, McDowell: He had two hits and scored twice for the Trojans, who won 7-3 at Harbor Creek.

Sean Houston, Fairview: He had two hits, including a home run, and drove in four runs during the Tigers’ 14-4, five-inning win against the rival Girard YellowJackets.

SOFTBALL

Sarah Banta, General McLane: She recorded two RBIs for the Lancers when they defeated McDowell 3-2.

Abby Tingley, Union City: She pitched a four-hit shutout and struck out 14 Saegertown batters during the Bears’ 1-0 victory vs. the Panthers.

Georgia Weber, Harbor Creek: The Huskies’ center fielder drove in four runs on two hits, which included a triple, when they beat Fairview 8-6.

Lauren Konkol, Seneca: She highlighted the Bobcats’ 16-0 victory vs. Girard when she pitched a three-inning, no-hitter and also hit a home run.

Aubrey Hammill, Seneca: She had a single and a double, scored three runs and had two RBIs while hitting leadoff for the Bobcats in 16-0 win over Girard.

Bailey Cannon, General McLane: She pitched a two-hitter and struck out 15 during the Lancers’ competitive 2-1 victory over Meadville.

Lucy Higley, Union City: She pitched a four-hit shutout over eight innings of the Bears’ 2-0 victory vs. Cochranton.

Makenna Gordon, Northwestern: The Wildcats’ 16-7 win against Fairview included her three RBIs.

BOYS TRACK AND FIELD

Tyler Lafferty, North East: He was victorious in the 110- and 300-meter hurdles when the Grapepickers defeated Girard 98-39.

Tyler Parkhurst, Union City: The senior swept the three jumping events during the Bears’ 75-69 dual victory over Eisenhower.

Ben Schrumpf, Fort LeBoeuf: The distance runner for the Bison finished first in the 800 meters (2 minutes, 9.21 seconds) and 1,600 meters (4:42.98) during their 113-33 dual victory against Northwestern.

GIRLS TRACK AND FIELD

Abby Falk, North East: The sprinter finished first in the 100- and 200-meter dashes during the Grapepickers’ 96-40 dual victory vs. Girard.

Ava Reagle, Union City: The freshman for the Bears was an individual victor for the 400 and 800 races and also anchored their 1,600 and 3,200 relays in a dual victory over Eisenhower that was determined by a tiebreaker.

Alee Young, Fort LeBoeuf: She won the long jump at an even 16 feet and the triple jump at 33-9 when the Bison beat Northwestern 106-43.

Aaron Heinlein, McDowell: District 10’s reigning Class 3A singles champion won as the No. 1 starter for the Trojans when they beat Howland (Ohio) 4-1. … He formerly won 10-4 when they defeated Jefferson (Ohio) 4-1.

Aryan Noticewala, Cathedral Prep: The freshman won the No. 2 singles match for the Ramblers when they shut out Conneaut (Ohio) 5-0.

Fairview family: Turaga and Louis brothers help Fairview tennis team to dominant regular season

Jaden Rocco, Harbor Creek: The No. 1 singles starter for the Huskies didn’t drop a game over his two-set victory, which was part of Harbor Creek’s 5-0 win against Erie High.

Graham Louis, Fairview: The sophomore won his No. 3 singles match during the Tigers’ 4-1 Region 2 dual victory at McDowell.

Aravind Turaga, Fairview: The Tigers’ No. 1 singles starter won a three-set match during the team’s 5-0 shutout of Warren.

Andy Trost, McDowell: He recorded a team-high nine kills and added five digs for the Trojans when they swept rival Cathedral Prep. … He also had 22 kills and nine digs for the Trojans during their three-set sweep of Saegertown earlier this week.

Ridgeway Case, Cathedral Prep: He led the Ramblers with 15 kills when they defeated Farrell in four sets.

BOYS LACROSSE

Ryan Voll, Cathedral Prep: The freshman scored five goals and recorded assists on two others when the Ramblers routed Conneaut (Pennsylvania) 18-3.

Julia Weindorf, Fairview: She finished with five goals in the Tigers’ 17-5 victory vs. Villa Maria.
