GLL to manage Lee Valley’s sporting venues

Lee Valley Regional Park Authority (LVRPA) has appointed Greenwich Leisure Limited (GLL) to take care of its range of sports activities amenities on a 10-year contract.

GLL, a charitable social company which operates amenities less than its “Much better” manufacturer, is set to choose in excess of the LVRPA’s six venues from 1 April 2022.

Situated in a 10,000-acre park, the six facilities are the Lee Valley VeloPark, Lee Valley White Water Centre, Lee Valley Hockey and Tennis Centre, Lee Valley Athletics Centre, Lee Valley Driving Centre, and the new £30m Lee Valley Ice Centre, which is established to open later on this calendar year.

Peter Bundey, CEO designate at GLL, stated: “Lee Valley’s sporting venues are broadly recognised as staying ideal in class, we are enthusiastic to be doing the job with the Park Authority and its groups of pro venue supervisors and staff, as we consider on this new purpose.

“We will function intently with Lee Valley Regional Park Authority to even more acquire the existing services, undertake revolutionary investments, maximise participation and continue to make improvements to the top quality of existence for regional communities and the wider location.

“We are fully commited to making certain a long and sustainable long term for all the facilities, when also recognising the relevance of the Park’s heritage.”

Somewhere around 100 permanent and 150 versatile staff members will transfer throughout to GLL as part of the contract.
